Usually when people think about the cost of IVF, they focus on the specific IVF procedures such as taking eggs out, fertilizing eggs, and growing embryos in the laboratory. However, research in the medical literature shows that about half the cost of an IVF cycle is the cost of injectible medications and associated monitoring. In some counties were IVF costs are controlled, medications may constitute a higher proportion of the total costs. Injectible medications used in IVF cycles include, Lupron, Antegon, Ganirelex, Follistim, Braville, Menopur, and Gonal F.

October 1, 2011. Infertility Solutions, P.C. now offers an improved method of egg retrieval for IVM (IVF together with in vitro maturation) using a new needle developed by Dr. Hans-Peter Steiner in Austria. This needle enables the rinsing of very small follicles, which are the source of eggs for IVM. Rinsing with a traditional IVF needle would likely cause the loss of eggs rather than enhance egg recovery.

Infertility Solutions achieved pregnancy using a new In Vitro Maturation technique

CLARKS SUMMIT, Pennsylvania (March 10, 2010) - Infertility Solutions, P. C. announced the first successful pregnancy in NE Pennsylvania using in vitro maturation (IVM). The patient was a 28 year old woman with infertility. Eggs were harvested from her without the use of medications to stimulate the growth of eggs in her ovaries. The immature eggs obtained were matured in the laboratory and then fertilized using IVF (in vitro fertilization) techniques. The resulting embryos were transferred into the uterus and a single embryo implanted and showed viability by demonstrating its heartbeat.
